2022 Pool Hours

The Claybourne pool is tentatively scheduled to open each season on Memorial Day weekend (the first day of swim May 28th) and closed on Labor Day (September 5th). Pool hours will be from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Sunday-Saturday (School Days M-F are from 4-8 pm). Specific dates for opening and closing will be posted on the website and dictated by the availability of lifeguards and the start of school for the particular calendar year. A sign will be posted at the pool house each season with the hours of operation for clarification and/or should there be a change.

Pool Memberships for Shelbourne Estates

Per section 12.D of the Claybourne Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions, residents of the Shelbourne Estates community are allowed to use the Claybourne Estates swimming pool provided that they pay a special assessment of $170 (per household) to the Claybourne Property Owners Association.

Section 1: Schedule 


1. Pool will open Memorial Day weekend and operate until Labor Day on a daily basis when lifeguards are available.

2. A sign will be posted at the pool house each season with hours of operation.

3. The pool may only be used when a lifeguard is on duty. 


Section 2: Admittance 


1. Members must follow procedures in place to gain admittance to the pool. These procedures may change each season. The details will be provided via the communication committee prior to the pool opening.

2. Members must be current with association dues to use the pool.

3. Guests are allowed free of charge as long as they are accompanied by a member. 


Section 3: General Rules 


1. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult (18 or older).

2. Children between the ages of 8-10 must pass a swim test conducted by the lifeguard to be allowed to swim unaccompanied by an adult.

3. No glass containers allowed within the pool fence. Any violation resulting in breakage within the pool fence will result in the homeowner being charged for the drainage, cleaning, and refilling of the pool. The estimated cost is $20,000.

4. The telephone is provided for emergency use only.

5. No pets allowed.

6. No running on the pool deck.

7. All patrons under the age of 18 must observe a 15 minute safety break when called by the lifeguard. Children may use the wading pool during this time, but no lifeguard is on duty.

8. Children under the age of 3 may stay in the main pool during safety break, only within arms reach of a parent or other guardian over 18.

9. No alcoholic beverages allowed during regular pool hours. Anyone showing signs of intoxication will not be admitted or will be required to leave.

10. No smoking within the pool fence. 


Section 4: Management & Member Responsibilities 


1. Pool manager and lifeguards on duty have full authority to enforce all rules of the pool.

2. Any criticism of the lifeguards shall be directed only to the Board of Directors via written communication.

3. The lifeguard on duty can expel anyone who violates any pool rule.

4. Any damage to pool property will be charged to the member responsible.

5. Members are encouraged to report any rule infractions to the lifeguards.

6. In case of emergency, bad weather, or for control purposes, the pool may be closed at any time at the discretion of the pool management.

7. Updates to rules and regulations may be needed and will be sent to members via channels established by the communication committee.

 
Section 5: Playground Rules 


1. Park hours are dawn to dusk.

2. Play at your own risk.

3. Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by a parent or other responsible adult.

4. No glass containers at the park.

5. Trash must be removed by the member or placed in the pool garbage cans until park garbage cans are available.

6. No climbing on the outside of the play structure. 


7. Members must report any broken equipment to the pool and playground committee.

8. Updates to rules may be necessary and will be sent to members via channels established by the communication committee.
